Julington Creek Reopening Plan Message to Residents

 Attention Julington Creek Residents:

Staff is excited to announce our plans to reopen some of the amenity facilities here at Julington Creek.  The following plan outlines our staggered approach in doing so.  Please be patient with our staggered approach, as we are opening up in phases to account for staff availability, the finalization of facility projects, staff acclimation to the registration process for amenity utilization, and most importantly to ensure we are able to serve this community as safely as we possibly can.  Below I will outline some general rules and policies we will be abiding by.  I will list the amenity opening schedule and explain some of the nuances involved with the utilization by residents of these amenities.  We are so eager to serve you and can’t wait to see you at the facilities soon.

General Assumptions/Practices:

1. Staffing in place to accommodate 6’ social distancing and less than 10 persons caps enforcement, as well as cleanliness requirements. If staffing is not available or needs time to ramp up, other options shall be considered based on ability to monitor and enforce safely and implement heightened sanitation at CDD facilities, as required by the Phase 1 Reopen Florida plan.

2. 6-foot social distancing will remain in effect for extended period of time.

3. Limits of groupings of 10 or less people, with social distancing in place.

4. Heightened standard of sanitizing required, particularly through Phases 1-2.

5. Plans should be flexible and fluid as we learn more about virus and reopening impacts.

6. Phased reopening in line with federal, state and local guidelines

7. Amenity management company has sanitation process, employee process and process for reporting known cases procedures in place with DM.

8. No guest pass use during Phase 1.

9. Staff will wear masks and gloves at all times.

10. We will not have traditional Lifeguarding scheduled at our pools, rather Pool monitors will be onsite to ensure social distancing is being upheld.  In essence, we will be under a swim at your own risk scenario, with pool monitoring at all times.

11.  No showers, locker rooms, or water fountains will be able to be used during this first phase of opening.  Please come prepared to swim and bring your own water.

Reporting of COVID-19 exposure

If we have any known reported cases of COVID-19 by any persons who have been at the facility, whether staff or residents, we will communicate this to the community at large.  We will also close the facilities for a deep clean and ensure the infected person(s) properly self-quarantine themselves for 14 days.  They will be required to provide a doctor’s clearance verifying they are not positive with COVID-19, prior to being able to return to the facilities.  Staff that came into contact with the infected individuals will monitor themselves away from the facility for two days to ensure they are symptom free before returning to work.

Specific Facility Status of Opening

  1. Food Trucks: Will restart but will be grab and go.  We will offer more food truck opportunities, with less food trucks present at each offering.  There will be no more than 10 people at a food truck at a time, spaced out six feet apart and residents will not be permitted to congregate at the location of the Food Trucks.  If social distancing becomes a concern, we will discontinue Food Trucks until we can comfortably do so.  The Food Trucks will continue to be stationed at the Aquatics Complex parking lot.
  2. Pools
    • Aquatics Complex: This facility will be utilized starting Saturday May 9th by the Loggerhead swim team exclusively.  The family pool at the location will be introduced at a later date for resident usage as a part of our staggered approach to opening. TBD.
    • Recreation Center Competition Pool: Starting Monday May 11th, the competition pool will be opened from 6am until 8pm, Monday through Friday for resident usage.  Our Saturday hours of operation will be 7am until 8pm, and Sunday hours will be 9am until 7pm.  To utilize the pool, residents will need to register for one-hour time slots, with the understanding that we will cap each lane at one swimmer (however, 2 members of the same household can share a lane).  There will be 8 reservations per hour for this pool.  We will clear the pool at five minutes prior to the next hour, so we can safely allow the next group of swimmers into the pool.  In essence, you will have 55 minutes of swim time with your reservation.  We ask that residents arrive ten minutes prior to their reservation time to ensure they are able to utilize their entire reservation window.  Residents must be 16 or older to reserve a lane.  Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult member of the same household.  The adult household member must reserve a lane as well, even if they do not intend to swim.  We are requiring this so we can best manage social distancing and so we can limit the total amount of residents in this area.  Some pool furniture will be available in small numbers, we ask these are not moved from where they are staged.  Staff will clean and sanitize the furniture after each use.  We ask that no resident signs up for more than 3 slots per week to ensure usage for all of the community.  When you enter the facility, you will be asked to remain in a social distancing conscious staging area until we clear the pool of swimmers from the previous reservation time.  Residents will be asked to enter through the exterior gates, in a clearly marked area.  You will be checked in by a staff member who will have a roster of the registered residents.  You will need to sign up by the end of the previous day to ensure your reservation.  You will be able to call in and staff can sign you up for same day reservations, should any remain.  This call in will be first come, first serve.
    • Recreation Center Family Pool: Starting Wednesday May 13th, the family pool will be opened from 9am until 8pm, Monday through Friday.  Saturday hours of operation will be 9am until 8pm, and Sunday we will operate this pool from 9am until 7pm.  Similarly, to the Competition Pool, residents will need to reserve a spot for each member of their household, this reservation will be restricted to one-hour time slots as well.  We will cap the number of residents per hour to 40 individuals.  We will clear the pool out at 5 minutes prior to the next hour timeslot.  We will have pool furniture strategically placed and ask that it is not moved.  We will clean and sanitize the furniture after each usage.  The one-hour timeslot will be subject to change and to be extended should we determine it is viable to do so.  We are attempting to gauge our community need in this preliminary phase and will look to extend the hours of reservation and also include the Aquatics complex family pool based on usage and ability to staff both family pools.  We will communicate to the community any changes of reservation times as soon as they are determined.  Social distancing is still required while in the pool.
    • Water slides/Spray Park: These features will not be available during this first phase of opening.
  3. Tennis court usage: Beginning Tuesday, May 12th, the tennis courts will be available for community usage.  The hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 7am until 8pm.  Saturday hours will be 7am until 8pm, and Sunday will be 9am until 7pm.  Residents will be required to sign up online to reserve their courts in 2-hour time slots.  Tennis participants will be asked to vacate the courts 10 minutes prior to the next reservation time slot.  In essence, residents will have the courts at their disposal for 1hour and 50 minutes.  Doubles play is allowed, but we ask social distancing is observed at all times. There will be no league play, tournaments or competitive play.  Tennis lessons in small numbers will still be permitted.  There will be no areas to observe tennis play, only registered members will be permitted on the courts and into the facility.  Residents must be 16 or older to reserve a timeslot.  Any residents under 16 will need to have a household member of their family, who must be over 18 be present.  The household member must be included in the reservation.
  4. Playgrounds: Beginning Monday, May 11th, all playgrounds will be opened for general usage, as long as social distancing measures are taking place.  These areas are “Use at your own Risk” as there will not be attendants located on their premises to ensure continuous sanitizing.  Self-sanitizing measures need to take place by residents for usage.  If social distancing is not maintained, these areas will be subject to being closed down.
  5. Open Space/Trails/Park Areas: Beginning Monday, May 11th, all open spaces will be opened and available for general usage, as long as social distancing is taking place.
  6. Café:  The café will be closed during this phase of reopening and will not reopen until we are in Phase 3, which would be full usage of the facility.
  7. Child Watch: Will not be open during this phase of reopening.
  8. Camps: Will not be available in Phase 1 of reopening.  We will make the determination by May 15th whether we will be able to offer full summer camp this season based on any new guidelines we receive from national and local government.
  9. Lifestyle Programming: We will not be offering any lifestyle programs in this first phase of reopening, except virtually.
  10. Volleyball Courts: Will not be opened during the first phase of reopening and will be reevaluated should we enter phase 2.
  11. Basketball Courts (near the Aquatics complex): Will not be opened during phase the first phase of reopening and will be reevaluated should we enter phase 2.
  12. Sportsplex: Beginning Monday, May 11th, the Sportsplex will be open.  Social distancing must take place, should it not, we will need to close this amenity.  Basketball courts will be limited to household family groups or individual play only.  No balls or helmets will be available to borrow from the Sportsplex.  All helmets and balls must be brought by the resident themselves.  Skateboard users must have a helmet to utilize the skatepark, and once again it must be self-provided.  Court space will be first come first serve.
  13. Rooms/Pavilion Rentals: There will be no rentals in the first phase of opening.
  14. Fitness Center/Group Fitness: This area will be closed during the first phase of opening.
