Pool Etiquette & Usage

Phase 1 & 2 Comp Pool Usage

Starting Monday May 11th, the competition pool will be opened from 6am until 8pm, Monday through Friday for resident usage. Our Saturday hours of operation will be 7am until 8pm, and Sunday hours will be 9am until 7pm. To utilize the pool, residents will need to register for one-hour time slots, with the understanding that we will cap each lane at one swimmer (however, 2 members of the same household can share a lane). There will be 8 reservations per hour for this pool. We will clear the pool at five minutes prior to the next hour, so we can safely allow the next group of swimmers into the pool. In essence, you will have 55 minutes of swim time with your reservation. We ask that residents arrive ten minutes prior to their reservation time to ensure they are able to utilize their entire reservation window. Residents must be 16 or older to reserve a lane. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult member of the same household. The adult household member must reserve a lane as well, even if they do not intend to swim. We are requiring this so we can best manage social distancing and so we can limit the total amount of residents in this area. Some pool furniture will be available in small numbers, we ask these are not moved from where they are staged. Staff will clean and sanitize the furniture after each use. We ask that no resident signs up for more than 3 slots per week to ensure usage for all of the community. When you enter the facility, you will be asked to remain in a social distancing conscious staging area until we clear the pool of swimmers from the previous reservation time. Residents will be asked to enter through the exterior gates, in a clearly marked area. You will be checked in by a staff member who will have a roster of the registered residents. You will need to sign up by the end of the previous day to ensure your reservation. You will be able to call in and staff can sign you up for same day reservations, should any remain. This call in will be first come, first serve.

Phase 1 & 2 Family Pool Usage

Starting Wednesday May 13th, the family pool will be opened from 9am until 8pm, Monday through Friday. Saturday hours of operation will be 9am until 8pm, and Sunday we will operate this pool from 9am until 7pm. Similarly, to the Competition Pool, residents will need to reserve a spot for each member of their household, this reservation will be restricted to one-hour time slots as well. We will cap the number of residents per hour to 40 individuals. We will clear the pool out at 5 minutes prior to the next hour timeslot. We will have pool furniture strategically placed and ask that it is not moved. We will clean and sanitize the furniture after each usage. The one-hour timeslot will be subject to change and to be extended should we determine it is viable to do so. We are attempting to gauge our community need in this preliminary phase and will look to extend the hours of reservation and also include the Aquatics complex family pool based on usage and ability to staff both family pools. We will communicate to the community any changes of reservation times as soon as they are determined. Social distancing is still required while in the pool.

Swim Etiquette

Please consider the following when swimming:

  • Circle swimming can be performed by 2 or more people swimming in circular motion and keeping to the right
  • Splitting the lane is when two participants share the lane with each participant only using one side of the lane

Comp Pool Usage

There may be times during the swim team practice that the swim team will have use of seven out of the eight lanes. One lane will remain reserved at all times for lap swim. However, if at any time three swimmers occupy the lap swimmers’ lane and a fourth swimmer arrives on deck to swim laps, the swim team will vacate the seventh lane.
