  • Ten person minimum required to hold a class.
  • Equipment specific to the class provided.
  • Sign-ups are by the session.

Aqua Challenge

This high intensity, low impact work-out is done entirely in the deep end of the Competition pool in order to alleviate pressure on joints while using the resistance of the water to tone and strengthen muscles. The use of water belts will keep participants fully suspended in the water for the entire workout. Cardio exercises will consist of a variety of movements to increase heart rate and utilize the body’s full range of motion. Specific areas of the body, such as arms, legs and abs, will be targeted to promote muscle tone and build strength.  This low impact class makes a great workout for all ages and physical abilities.

Loggerhead Aquatics

Julington Creek Loggerhead Aquatics or “JCLA” will be a USA Swimming member club operating under auspices of USA Swimming and Florida Swimming, Inc. USA Swimming is the national governing body, recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee, as the organization responsible for selecting the USA Olympic Swim Team, which represents the United States in the Olympic Games. Florida Swimming, Inc. is the Local Swimming Committee (LSC) designated by USA Swimming as its local representation.

JCLA will operate year round. Meaning, the club will practice and compete on an ongoing basis (with short breaks). The team will have several practice groups (training groups) to accommodate multiple ages and levels of swimmers. Practices will be held at the new JCP Aquatic Center pool. Senior swimmers will practice six days a week, and sometimes twice per day. Age Group swimmers will practice three to six times per week, depending on their training group placement and age.

We will attend swim meets in Jacksonville, Northern Florida, and beyond. The swim meets we attend will primarily be invitationals, where swimmers from various club teams will be competing.Younger aged swimmers will attend meets primarily in greater Jacksonville area. Older and more experienced swimmers will attend in town and out of town meets. Meets are always held on the weekends, never during the week (except intra-squad meets).

An important part of any club team is parent support and volunteerism. Parental support will be a cornerstone of our swim club. Without such support, it makes success just a bit more difficult to achieve for the swimmers and coaches. We will need volunteers to serve in many capacities. Organizing such things as, social gatherings, fund raising, team suits and uniforming, running swim meets, and officiating, just to name a few.
